Late Victorian mahogany satinwood banded wind out dining table, with two additional leaves, raised on tapered square section legs with pot castors, length closed 153cm extending to 239cm, width 122cm, height 64cm; together with twelve Queen Anne style walnut splat back dining chairs (13)

More Information

The table has been French polished as have the leaves so overall it is uniform in colour with no unsightly marks. Some small knocks and scrapes to the lower legs consistent with normal use. Some old knocks to the edge of the table. Overall a good looking and useful sized table. The chairs have numerous knocks and scrapes. Whilst all the chairs are sturdy enough some flex a little more on the back than others. The chairs appear to be stained and it gives them a brown coloured appearance in places which is now flaking and making them look a little tatty. As Queen Anne style chairs go these are not a bad set. The stretchers are attractive. We can find no major repairs, however in our opinion they would benefit from some light restoration and re-polishing. The seat pads are generally good, but one does have a tear at the front, but the upholstery is pretty industrial and the seats are very firm.
