Fees

Late George III oak enclosed dresser, circa 1800-20, fitted with two long drawers and two central short drawers, each with brass swan neck handle, having two raised panel cupboard doors flanking the lower central drawers, all raised on ogee bracket feet, width 148cm, depth 51cm, height 89cm

More Information

The dresser has an overall varnished look to it although it may just be simply years of polish. It is a little bit shiny in places. The rear plank of the top has scars suggesting it may have had a back on it at some point. The doors have knocks and losses to the beaded edge. The handles are original, as are the escutcheons, although the lower centre drawer does have an additional hole to the left hand side of the handle, which is inexplicable. There is the odd tiny loss or replaced crossbanded veneer. There appears not to be a key for the bottom two cupboards and these are locked. We will endeavour to find one to fit but this cannot be guaranteed. Usual knocks and scrapes around the feet. There is a vertical split in the right hand side panel and a closed split in the left hand panel.
