Two similar Staffordshire silver resist milk jugs, circa 1820, baluster form, each decorated with a stylised bird sitting amidst foliage in yellow, green and terracotta colours against a silver ground, height 11.5cm

More Information

The lustre overall is good with only slight wear at the extremities. Wear to the silver lining at the rim in both cases and at the top and on the edges of the handle. The odd minor glaze chip to the rim in each case.

The enamel colours are a little subdued due to age and degradation. Otherwise these jugs are in comparatively good condition for their age.
