George IV rosewood teapoy, circa 1825, canted rectangular top with beaded edge, opening to reveal a fitted interior with three lidded caddies and two original fan cut glass mixing bowls (one repaired), supported on a reeded and turned baluster column over a quatreform base with scrolled and reeded bun feet with concealed brass castors, width 41cm, depth 31cm, height 75cm

More Information

Overall this is in good condition. Excellent patina. No losses to veneers noted on inspection. Everything appears to be original on the outside.
The depth of the teapoy itself is 15cm.
On the interior of the teapoy, the lid has some scratches just to the left hand side, probably from the broken mixing pot (which has also lost some of its fretwork). The right hand side mixing pot looks in good shape. The three tea caddies are all in good condition.
The lid closes proud to the body of the teapoy. This is accentuated when the two glass mixers are in (see images). There is more of an air gap on the right hand side of the teapoy lid indicating that it might be fractionally warped.
A key has been included but at present it doesn't seem to make the lock work. The lock itself is the original lock but is fractionally loose in its seating presently, probably because the key provided is making the lock move in its seating.
