The top has some fading, particularly along the back edge. There are a myriad of old scratches beneath a nice patina. The brass inlay is rising a little in places.
There is a small piece of veneer loss to the back right corner. There are circular needlework clamp marks visible on the upper edge. There is a small split against the hinge at the back when opened. The inner surfaces have small spot indentations and this surface has also been repolished.
On the base there are replaced veneers.
